beehiiv

beehiiv is a newsletter platform that now calls itself “newsletter-first,” adding websites, podcasts, communities, paid subscriptions, digital products and an ad network around the newsletter.¹ It was founded in 2021 by early employees of Morning Brew, the newsletter media company, and says its team of 129 full-time employees is 100% remote across 12 countries.¹ The company behind it is beehiiv Inc., whose terms of use are governed by New York law.² For a one-person company it is a way to run the newsletter and the pages and products around it from one account: its pricing page lists newsletter, website, podcast, community and digital products on every plan, Free included.³

The Free plan holds up to 2,500 subscribers with unlimited email sends.³ For a 1,000-subscriber list, Lite costs $59 a month on monthly billing or $49 a month billed yearly, and Pro $109 a month or $95 billed yearly.³ That $59 is the highest of the 13 platforms in Cheapest Paid Email Platform at 1,000 Subscribers. These plans took effect for new customers on October 1, 2026, replacing Launch, Scale and Max with Free, Lite and Pro; existing customers keep their current price until their first renewal on or after November 1, 2026.⁴ The free plan kept its 2,500-subscriber limit through the change, as How Email Platforms’ Free Tiers Changed in 2025–26 sets out.

On the money side, beehiiv says it takes 0% of paid subscription revenue and charges a 0% platform fee on digital product sales (vendor-stated).⁴ On the effort side, Lite adds paid subscriptions, automations and A/B testing, and Pro adds branding removal, webhooks and advanced analytics.³ beehiiv describes its automations as welcome series, re-engagement and upsell emails that run on any trigger, and states that its infrastructure delivers 99.3% of emails (vendor-stated).⁴
