Payhip
Payhip, at payhip.com, is a storefront and checkout for selling digital products and memberships, built for creators who want a store page without running their own site. Its About page says Payhip “was created back in 2011,” describes it as bootstrapped and profitable, places it in London, UK, and invites sellers to “join over 130,000 ambitious sellers.”1
What sets Payhip’s pricing apart is that every plan includes all features, unlimited products and unlimited revenue, and the plan changes only the transaction fee: Free Forever is $0 a month with a 5% transaction fee, Plus is $29 a month with 2%, and Pro is $99 a month with none.2 Stripe and PayPal still charge their standard rates on every plan, so a card sale on the free plan costs Payhip’s 5% plus the processor’s own fee; customers can pay by PayPal or card, and sales are deposited to the seller immediately after a transaction completes.2 The page lists monthly prices only and mentions no annual discount.2 For a one-person company, the time saved is tax: Payhip says it “automatically collects, reports and remits digital EU/UK VAT as well as US/Canadian sales tax” for the seller, and can set up other taxes and report them, which is limited to the types and places it names.2
