Kit
Kit, formerly ConvertKit, is an email marketing platform built for creators, with tools to sell digital products and paid newsletter subscriptions alongside the newsletter itself.2 It was launched in 2013 by Nathan Barry, renamed Kit in 2024 and has grown to more than 63,000 customers, according to Email Vendor Selection’s review.1 Kit’s own website and help center block automated visits, so the figures on this page come from Email Vendor Selection’s Kit pricing guide and review, cited as secondary sources, as OneManOnly’s email posts do. For a one-person company it holds the subscriber list, the signup forms and landing pages, and the automated email sequences that send on their own once set up.2
Kit has three plans, Newsletter (free), Creator and Creator Pro, each priced by subscriber count, and all of them include unlimited email sends, as reported.2 The free plan covers up to 10,000 subscribers with one email sequence and one visual automation. At 1,000 subscribers Creator is listed at $39 a month, with unlimited sequences and visual automations, more than 100 integrations and no Kit branding, and Creator Pro at $79 a month; paying yearly is reported as two months free, about 16% off.2 The $39 Creator price appears, via the same secondary source, in Cheapest Paid Email Platform at 1,000 Subscribers, and the 10,000-subscriber free plan in How Email Platforms’ Free Tiers Changed in 2025–26, which found no dated change to it.
Sales of digital products and paid subscriptions are possible on the free plan too. Email Vendor Selection puts Kit’s transaction fees at around 0.6% plus standard card fees, roughly 3.5% + $0.30 per sale in all.2 Its review adds that Kit accepts payments in six currencies (USD, CAD, AUD, NZD, GBP and EUR).1 Paid plans come with a 14-day free trial and a 30-day money-back guarantee, as reported.2
